I finished the reconciled outline tonight, right up to and including the notes I made this morning. It’s now 6400+ words and 17 single spaced pages. Boy, does it feel good to have that done. If the trend continues, it will only grow as I head toward the end of the book.
Now my debate is over whether or not I should delete all the notes I have at the end of my And/News document (since they’re now part of the new outline) and paste in each chapter as it occurs. The pros are obvious. The con is that it will make a dent in the word count, even if it is replaced with the outline for the chapter-in-progress.
Never mind. I’m going to do the delete-and-paste. It’s a no-brainer, really. I just needed to write it out so I could see the obvious. And I’m tired. That’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it.
If the world doesn’t interfere, I will hopefully start on Chapter 10 tomorrow. I know, I haven’t had a really good track record of writing on Friday nights. I guess there’s a first time for everything.
